Wiltshire

Wiltshire has the most byways of any county in the UK and has always been a firm favourite with 4x4 enthusiasts of all levels due to its challenging and great variety.

 

Our tour starts in North Wiltshire in the market town of Marlborough before heading south to start winding our way along the byways in East Wiltshire, making our way through the beautiful vales and valleys.  We will the day exploring slippery chalk tracks with plenty of mud and water. We spend our evening camping just outside the ancient city of Salisbury. Our second day takes us further west across chalk downland, though pretty rivers and out to visit the famous Fovant Military Badges carved into the hill side.

 

Our route takes us along the ridgeline of these Wiltshire Hills before dropping down and edging back up towards north Wiltshire. We work our way back up touching on a couple of byways before finishing our day late afternoon back in Marlborough.

Wiltshire has a strong G.L.A.S.S. following which keep the large number of byways in order and well sign posted so everyone stays legal as well as having an extremely good time.
